Bank holiday day out

Today being a bank holiday, we took the sprogs to Chatsworth house. Those of you who have visited know what a lovely place it is. After many years of scraping by, they have transformed it into a fantastic, but slightly expensive day out.

House and gardens, same as they used to be, very boring, mainly for the grey haired amongst us. The recent inclusion of a childrens farm and play area is our main area of visitation.

So, with Emily and J, and sprog Charlie, off we toddled. We met a friend of emily's Nick and his wife Kelly and their three children.

Nick and family are also emigrating to NZ, about october time, they are moving to Whakatane, so we look forward to hooking up with them again very soon.

All in all, we had a great day, the kids loved it and they all got on like the proverbial house on fire.

scalextric

About five years ago, I got my hands on a load of old, rusty scalextric track and accessories. With about £25 spent at a car boot sale, I had a rather large selection. With the imminenet move, it all had to go to a good home.

So, I sold all the cars for £40 at car boot, and tried to sell the rest for a further £40. Nobody was interested.

it was time for EBAY, so list it I did, starting price of 99p, after 9 days it had hit a lofty £31. Not bad, very happy. We then went out for the evening to a friends place for tea, and stayed over.

In the morning the computer appeared and I checked my ebay account, and then nearly fainted

£105.99p

holy bloody sh#t. All for a few pieces of rusty old scalextric.

Pregnant.

When I was six months pregnant with my third child, my three year old came into the room when I was just getting ready to get into the shower.

She said, "Mommy, you are getting fat!".

I replied, "Yes, honey, remember Mommy has a baby growing in her tummy".

"I know", she replied, "but what's growing in your butt?"

one of my favourites.

A man walked into a cafe, went to the bar and ordered a beer.
"Certainly, Sir, that'll be one cent."
"One Cent?" the man thought.
He glanced at the menu and asked, "How much for a nice juicy steak and a bottle of wine?"
"A nickel," the barman replied.
"A nickel?" exclaimed the man
"Where's the guy who owns this place?"
The bartender replied, "Upstairs, with my wife."
The man asked, "What's he doing upstairs with your wife?"
The bartender replied, "The same thing I'm doing to his business down here."

So, my sister likes jokes.

Check this site out for jokes, slightly riskee, but altoghether funny.

Bye.

Kids day out to Ferry Farm Park

Claire and friend Emily, took the young scamps to Ferry Farm Park today. I stayed at home, tidied up, went to the bank, cooked dinner etc.

Chaos and destruction ensued! then some peaceful undertakings by ellis, avec pony.

Ellis wanted to hold a kitten, but unfortunatly it had a broken pelvis! Claire loved the one day old piglet, or future bacon sandwich !

Favourite places

It would appear that we all have a favourite place in life, Ellis' is just slightly more unusual from everybody else. When we move and donate the sofa to some poor deserving soul, it will be imprinted with Ellis' outline. What a shock this boy is in for when we get to NZ and he only has five channels to choose from!

Now this may not be Harvey's favourite place but at least for today he was quite happy to sit at the table and eat his lunch. Normally he gets through about 6 mouthfuls and declares 'me full'. Closely followed by 'me pudding', and when informed that he didn't eat all his lunch and won't be getting any pudding we hear 'yes did'.

Keeping up with my sister

In a vane attempt to compete with my older sister, who obviously has too much time on her hands, now she only works like three hours a week.

I am now going to update our blog as often as possible, as I too am now 'sans' employment.

So Sis, I challenge you to a 'BLOG OFF', may battle commence.

5 weeks to go.

35 days and counting, not long till the 'great breadmore adventure' begins.

5 days left at work, then 4 weeks of packing, telephone calls and lots of other rubbish.

Farewell party on the 2nd September, all welcome.
